Biography —
Glenn Adams is Professor in the Department of Psychology and Director of the Kansas African Studies Center. An enduring theme of his work is the idea of “General Psychology Otherwise”—an effort to re-think standard accounts of human mind and being from the epistemic standpoint of everyday African realities. His current projects apply this perspective (a) to experience of well-being in collaborative research with colleagues at the University of Ghana and (2) to articulate decolonial perspectives in psychology with other members of the Readsura Decolonial Editorial Collective.
Research —
Interests: Perceptions of racism and injustice; collective memory and identity
